Twitter Meltdown As Bayern Hit Arsenal 10-2

Arsenal thrashed by Bayern, again
Arsenal were emphatically smashed

by Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 a couple of weeks ago, on a night that was as depressing as it was predictable for Arsenal fans.

The Gunners went down 5-1 in Bavaria and were essentially out of the competition even before a ball was kicked in the 2nd leg tonight.

But football is a funny old game, and anything can happen over 90 minutes.

Arsenal started the game brightly and ambitiously, and were rewarded for their efforts when Theo Walcott fired them ahead in the 20th minute, to spark some vague hope of a comeback.

But then Laurent Koscielny was sent off early in the second half….and the Arsenal wheels came off.
And the floodgates opened.

First, Bayern equalized from the spot.
Then they took the lead.
Then they made it 3. Then 4.
And then, showing absolutely no human decency whatsoever, they made it 5-1. 5-1: 10-2 on aggregate.

And Twitter just couldn’t handle it.
