Tottenham striker Harry Kane has now become the highest goalscorer in all competitions in 2017.
The Englishman has netted 56 times in all competition in 2017 more than that scoredby closest challengers Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
He has also set a new record for Premier League goals in a calendar year with two first-half strikes against Southampton on Tuesday, Deceber 26.

His Boxing Day goals were his 37th, 38th and 39th in the English top flight in 2017, breaking the record set by Alan Shearer in1995, the year he won the title with Blackburn Rovers.
The Three Lions star is leading the league scoring chart with 17 goals for this season, two ahead of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah before their game againstSwansea later in the day.
Kane also has six goals from five Champions League appearances and is now on 49 club goals in all competitions in2017.

That figure is only bettered only by Lionel Messi and Edinson Cavani (both 50).Kane has 56 goals in 50 games, Lionel Messi has 54 goals in 64 games while Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski have 53 albeit in 59 and 55 games respectively.
