Tonto Dikeh saves 13-year-old pregnant Ghanaian girl after picture went viral (photos)



Controversial Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has made strides in locating the 13-year-old pregnant young Ghanaian girl.

The actress began the search together with her Foundation after the picture had gone viral on the internet.

The teenager identified as Afia was said to be engaged in the act of trading her body in order to fend for herself and her unborn baby.

When the incident came to her attention, the actress liaised with friends in the movie industry in Ghana to help her locate the teenager.

Tonto Dikeh disclosed that Afia would enjoy a special package from her foundation. She went on to spell out a few things that her foundation was going to do to ensure that she could at least lead a meaningful life after her delivery.

The actress indicated that young lady would be given a place to stay and her foundation was going to foot her medical bills. She added that the teenager was also going to be enrolled in school because education was very important.

The package also includes cost of antenatal and five month charges for postnatal care for the young mother and her child.

Dikeh also took to her Instagram handle to post the pictures of Afia and her baby in the hospital. The picture also had screenshots of how she was able to rescue the young lady.

She added that the 13-year old would also be migrated into a monthly-salary plan until she is able to work to cater for herself and her child. Afia would be assigned a psychologist who was going to assist her in case she has suffered any form of trauma due to her situation and also help in her rehabilitation.

The Tonto Dikeh Foundation is working on this project with St John’s Hospital and Fertility Centre, Multimedia Group and the Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore Constituency, Honorable Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie.

She called on all benevolent people in Ghana and in the diaspora to channel some of their resources into making the lives of the less-privileged in society more comfortable.
