Los Angeles is gearing up for tonight's Oscars hosted by Jimmy Kimmel,
Almost every pundit is predicting another day of sun for La La Land - plus several politically charged acceptance speeches.
An unusually tense atmosphere has surrounded the build-up to the Academy Awards, with protests, rallies and boycotts.
The three-hour-plus telecast, which begins at 9pm ET (2am GMT), is expected to resemble one very glitzy protest against President Donald Trump, whom award-winners - like Meryl Streep at the Golden Globes - have railed against throughout Hollywood's awards season.
Even the normally sunny California weather has been stormy, with rain drenching Los Angeles early on Sunday - though only clouds are expected for red carpet arrivals.
Hundreds of police and private security personnel braved early rain on Sunday to seal the security zone around the Hollywood venue. Two protests are scheduled to take place outside the security perimeter.
